Because Dream Seed Multimedia custom designs each website, there is no “typical” web design project. However, there are some basic steps common to most projects. We’ll start with a free initial consultation in which we will work together to develop an affordable plan specifically for your small business or nonprofit organization.

What you can expect in a custom web design project

1. We’ll start by getting to know you and assessing your needs. What is your organization? What do you do? What are your central values, your ideas, your mission? Who is your target market? What overall “look and feel” do you wish to project? What do you hope a website will do for you? What functionality would you like to have?
2. You’ll be guided through developing and researching a plan for your website, based on what your organization’s needs are.
3. Next, we’ll examine your current marketing and promotional materials, including an existing website if you have one. We’ll learn more about your organization and what image you’re presenting to the public. We’ll discuss your likes and dislikes with these materials to help us plan your new site. Consistency is key to brand awareness and recognition, and your website should seamlessly integrate with your other marketing materials so that you appear as a polished, professional organization.
4. We’ll discuss what your site should look like, how the information should be structured and accessed, and what functions and features the website should have. Our goals will be focused always on keeping the site easy for the public to use, appearing inviting, and remaining accessible to your target market. You’ll reap the benefits!
5. Based on your goals for your website and the needs it will serve, we’ll work together to develop the right customized plan for your website.
6. We’ll discuss domain names and web hosting options and get you set up with the right choice for you.
7. You supply the text, logo, graphics, and any other content for your website.
8. Once we have a basic design template completed, we’ll ask you to examine it. We will make changes to the look of the design based on your desires.
9. Then, after the design is completed and approved, we’ll enter all the text, graphics, and content.
10. We’ll test the site to make sure that it is usable, accessible, and standards-compliant in many different environments.
11. We’ll ask you to examine the site again to make sure that it delights you. We’ll make the changes that you request.
12. When the site is done, we’ll install it on your hosting server for you.
13. We’ll go over how to use the site and how to keep it fresh and updated.
14. Then, the site is yours and open to the public!
